Time to Dance!!!!!!!

Today, Samantha started her dance class and she loved it!I signed her up through the CSD department and it is put on by Encore dance studio. It is a 6 week class, one day a week. There are about 10 girls, sorry ballerinas, in the class. Her instructor, Wendy, seems really nice.It is a drop off class, so this is nice because then it allows Dominic and I to have a little one on one.I am also glad that her instructor allows the parents to sign up and be able to help in the class.I am looking forward to my day, so I can see my little girl prance around in her tu-tu!Also, at the end of the 6 weeks they do a little performance for the parents.I am sure that will be real cute.
I think I might have been just as excited for Sam to start today than her.I guess because I couldn't wait to put her in her pretty ballerina clothes and do her hair.I just remember being pregnant with her and thinking about all the cool things I was going to do with her,and now we are doing them. Also, I think just being a girl and getting to do all the sparkly things still makes you happy no matter how old you are.I think Dominic also enjoyed going to her class too this morning because all the little girls kept coming over to him and wanted to play with him.He is such a stud, and a smart one at that, he knows where to find all the hot chicks!

David and his new Baby!

Well as you can tell in the picture David FINALLY got his truck!!!! What a proud man he is with his new baby!He has been wanting to get one for the last 2 years and finally it was time.He has been driving the Honda to work and it has been falling apart. It has been a good car to us but now it is time to part ways.We have been looking for awhile and yesterday was his lucky day. While Sam was at school and Dominic was visiting with my parents, we decided to go test drive.Of course we fell in love with one.We had been looking at the Toyota Tacoma's but in the end decided on the Toyota Tundra. It has a lot more room for our family. It worked out really well for us because with the big holiday weekend approaching we were able to get a great deal.So lets see, I will try and describe what it has.White with grey interior, upgraded tires & rims, tow package, trd sports package,6 cd radio,mp3 hook up,tons of storage,4 door, lots of room for the kids with their car seats,5.7 l, v8, and lots of other neat things. It was also kinda cool that we got it yesterday because it was our 8th anniversary of the day we first meet.So Happy Anniversary David, you deserve it!!

There hasn't been to much exciting stuff happening around here.Went to a wedding on Saturday, which was a lot of fun.Trying to work in the yard, but man it has been HOT down here.Today it was 105, with that said I decided to take the kids today to the Roseville mall, to use their air conditioning. It was a lot of fun!We meet up with my friend Kim and her daughter Lexie.Sam and Lexie enjoyed walking through the mall holding hands all day long. The big high light was the Merry go round.Dominic went on it for the first time.He liked it for all about 30 seconds and then he was ready to get off.We also played in their indoor children area (for kids 6 and under). It was great, we were in the air condition mall with the kids running around playing and the best part it was free!At the end of the day, Kim treated the kids to a chocolate chip cookie.By the look of Dominics face you can see he very much enjoyed it!

What a great summer!

Well, I am finally back to blogging.Sorry it has taken me awhile but there just has never has been a good "alone "time to do it.I first want to say, Thank you all for coming and visiting us.We had a WONDERFUL time seeing you all!!!You guys wore us out!It took us a couple of days to recover from all the visiting and fun activities.Samantha had the time of her life playing in the pool with her cousins. She keeps asking me about the "boys" and the "Girls".We keep telling her every ones name but by the time she finally knows who's who, they have left to go home!Dominic also enjoyed playing with the "girls".He really enjoyed teasing Sienna about who was going to push the baby stroller!
There hasn't been too much going on hear lately.Just the usual stuff, school, play dates, working around the house,&having family time.Things are probably going to be more hectic though starting this week though.David starts his college class on Monday, and he has started to teach "CERT" in Galt on Thursday nights. Then in September he will be teaching "CERT" in Elk Grove on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. So, that means he will be gone Monday through Thursdays from 5pm-10pm and also be working his normal 48 hour shifts! It will be crazy busy!
Well above is a few pics from the summer.Samantha getting her trophy from soccer, which she is very proud of.The pic of Dominic says it all, he is ALL boy and loves to get DIRTY!You need to view it big so you can see all the details. Its amazing he has sand on his eyelashes! He had a great time! The other pics are from the lake and Marine world.Sorry, I am still learning about all this blogging and trying to figure out how to arrange pics and captions. So be patient with me!Hope all have a great week!

A Funtastic Day!

Well lately it has been pretty uneventful around here.Samantha is out of school till August 2 so we have had a lot of free time on our hands. It was pretty nice the first few days but then we have been a little bored.I try and arrange a few play dates during the week so we have some different company other than ourselves.
Today we had a great time on our play date.We got together with my friend Kim and her daughter Lexi.We went and checked out this new place called "Funtastic", it is in Elk Grove, off of Waterman. It just opened last month and it is an indoor play area for kids that are crawling to 8 years old. They kids really enjoyed it, especially Dominic.I was really happy to find a place where he could run around and not get hurt. They have a big play structure for older kids with slides, and they are really fast.I went down a few times with Dominic and was really surprised how fast they were. They have a toddler area where its all soft play mats with tunnels and balls. They also have a room where there is dress up clothes and musical instruments. It is a great concept because they also have a cafe inside where they have kid friendly foods and wireless connection for parents. The only catch is to get in it is $8 a child, adults free, and no outside food allowed. Its little pricey but sometimes on a hot day you don't mind spending it, I could easily spend that at home running my air conditioner! So, for all those who will be here in a few weeks if you are interested in going just let me know! Here is a few pics and also the link to the place.http://www.funtasticplaycenters.com/

4th of July!!!

We hope everyone had a great 4th, and by the looks of all the blogs, it looks like you guys did.We had a great one too!Our day started off, with our traditional walk with our next door neighbors to Starbucks and the firework stand. It was HOT here in Elk Grove. It reached 105,so it was a hot walk, but we made it fun.We were really got lucky this year because we scored 2 free boxes of fireworks. My best friend Kim brought them over due to the fact that her brother got them through his work for free and he couldnt use them.Apparently, where he lives they arent allowed to shoot off fireworks.Too bad for him, lucky us, THANK YOU KIM!Though we got free ones that didnt stop us from buying a few extra fountains. We let Sam and Dominic each pick one.

After our walk we had fun getting ready for our night.Guest showed up around 6pm.We had over our two neighbors and kids,Kim,Joe, and Lexi,my parents and sister. It was a pot luck dinner so it was fun to try the different dishes. The kids had alot of fun playing in the pool and eating popsicles.Dominic really had a good time too.Though about 6:30 he was ready for bed.Around 9, we started our fireworks and it lasted till 10pm.Sam loved all the fireworks, she was really into it.It was a great 4th!

Soccer Time!!!!

Samantha has started soccer for the first time this year and it has been alot of fun.She has been playing for the past three weeks. So, I am now offically a "soccer mom", and I have loved every minute of it.She loves the game too.Well, she is still learning about the game. As of right now, all she knows is kick the ball to the goal that we tell her to kick it to.Even that sometimes can be difficult for her to grasp, but hey she just turned 4!I am really loving all the exercise she gets from running around, she is usually pretty tired at the end of the night.I am also enjoying meeting all the parents and getting to socialize.I guess when you are a stay at home mom you look at things differently. When David goes he goes to watch Sam.When I go its to watch Sam and have adult conversation. All and all soccer has been a positive experience.Sam is really excited because at the end of the season which is in August, she will get a trophy.Thats all I hear about when we go to a game, "mommy, do I get my trophy today".Another thing that she loves about soccer is her two good friends Dylan and Soriagh are on the team.
Things have been busy around here lately as always, but should slow down next week.I am actually excited about that.Sam had her last day of school today and next week no soccer due to the fourth of July.It will be nice to have a week or so without any commitments.
Now, for some good news.Yesterday, Dominic had his appointment with his cardiologist.I first have to say that David and I dread this appointment with a passion.I get really tense and feel like vomiting about the week before we go.I also get really emotional.Well, we went and Dominic was a champ as always. He had his EKG and Echocardiogram. Our Doctor came in and said that his pressure reading stayed roughly the same,he is at 54.That is good news because it didnt worsen.A 70 is when they would need to step in and take some action. He said Dominic is still in the grey area of what to do with him.He is really a wait and see case, which why having these apt are so hard on us because everytime we are like,"is this the one".The doctor also said that if they do have to do something the ballon procedure is what they would do and it is a very simple surgery. This shock us when he said the balloon procedure .The reason why is because at his last apt in January he said it was out of the question due to the fact they had discovered extra tissue growing in his heart and because of that it would be open heart surgery.Three words a parent never wants to hear.Again, I was devestated last appointment. When we called the doctor on that, he went back to look at the film and said he couldnt really see the tissue in these films. So that means, we cant rule out the balloon procedure. If the time comes to take action(which I pray will never have to happen) they will do a really close ultra sound to see about the tissue.I am going with the positive side.Hoping that all my prayers and prayers from my family will maybe make a miracle for my baby boy.So, Thank you to all who have kept Dominc in their prayers and please continue to do so.They are working!!!!!!

Finally, we are bloggers!

Hello Family and friends! We finally have a blog.Sorry it has taken me so long, but we are now here. There has been lots going on lately that I would like to share.Samantha just celebrated her 4th birthday last Saturday.I cant believe she is 4, they just grow up so quickly! We celebrated by having a party at our house. Her theme was Scooby Doo.We had a Scooby Doo bouncy house, played pin the horn on the unicorn, and a pinata.Samantha had a wonderful time with her friends. She had about 8 friends and about 18 adults over.It was a good crowd.David barbequed tri tip, and I made brocolli salad, fruit salad, cheesy potatoes,2 dips, veggie tray, and a scooby doo cake. The cake I made myself, I had always wanted to try and decorate one myself.I remember as a little girl my mom making me a strawberry shortcake one, so I wanted to give Sam the same kind of memory.I actually found it really easy and enjoyable making it!
The other big news going on is David was selected as Firefighter of the year! What an honor! It came as a total surprise to us.He has been on vacation the past 2 weeks and got the phone call a week and half ago that he won.Last night we went to a dinner in his honor and also the police officer of the year at the Elks Lodge. There were about 60 plus people there. They were all so nice to us.Fire chief Foster had David come up front as he made a really nice speech about him.Afterwards, they presented him 2 beautiful plaques. One from the county of Sacramento and the other from the Elks club.We will also be attending another dinner soon, I think it is from the Lyons club.We are so very proud of him!It also means alot to him because this award was won by how many of his fellow co-workers nominated him.So this was a great honor to be choosen by his peers.
As, I mentioned above David has been on vacation. He went back today, and I think there was a part of him happy to go back. The reason is because he has been working really hard on his shed in the backyard. This thing is like a house, it actually is up to house standads. It is half way done and it looks great!I will post pics when it is complete.Oh, we also went camping this week.My parents are up at Loon Lake, near Ice house, so we decided to join them.It was alot of fun.David and I both got to go out on my dads boat and fish.It was awesome! The kids had a blast!Samantha was excited to use her new Scooby Doo fishing pole she got for her birthday.
Well, that is all for now.I will try and post once a week.I hope all is well with you and your families.Cant wait to see you guys in August!
