Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies.....

Guess what time it is?It is cookie time!!Anyone like a Thin Mint?

Well this is Sam's first year in Girl Scouts as a Daisy. She LOVES it!Today they had their first site sale. They sold over 250 boxes in 3 hours! As you can see above, David and Dominic showed their support by stopping by and buying a few boxes.Sam also enjoyed dressing up as a Thin Mint cookie. She became quite the sales lady by the end of the day.She started saying "come on over, we got 8 flavors, they are really good".They had several people say "I already bought some but you guys are just so cute I will buy more".We also had several people just make a donation to our troop. One lady gave us $20.00!I was shocked.

Another fun thing we did this month, was surprising the kids with a trip to Disneyland in March.I rang the door bell and they opened the door to find a note with tickets from Mickey and Minnie inviting them to come to Disneyland. They were confused at first but once we told them all about it they were screaming excited. In fact, they took off upstairs and I was like "what are they doing".Well, they were up there packing! It was funny! So, now everyday since Sam has been informing us how many days until we leave. It should be a fun road trip. How many times do you think we will hear "are we there yet"?

Today was also a great day because after selling cookies Samantha and I went to visit my sister. She is doing GREAT!She looked really good. They doctors are amazed how fast she is recovering, she has age on her side! She has been working with a physical therapist everyday to learn how to get in and out of bed the right way.She also walked quite a bit with a walker. It will be long and sore road but she is just grateful to be here! Thanks again for all your love, prayers, and happy thoughts!I have such an AWESOME family!

Oh, also I would like thank everyone for my birthday wishes! You all made me smile on days I thought I couldn't.David and the kids also made it special with letting me sleep in and waking up to homemade cards(the best kind),a mocha, beds made,&kids dressed& fed! They bought me presents(even when I said please don't) and took me out to a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill.Love you all!

Happy Birthday Dominic!

Happy 3rd Birthday Buddy!!!! OK,OK, it has been a really long time since I have last blogged.Seven months, yeah I feel really really bad. Believe me I thought about it a lot, but there was always something going on or I was too tired. So, I apologise to everyone who stopped by our page and were disappointed.I know how much I LOVE reading all of your blogs. So, with that said I will try my best to keep our blog more updated.

OK, now on to a happier note, our baby boy is now 3!!! I can not believe it, time has sure gone by fast.It just seemed like yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital.Thank You to all who sent him Birthday cards, he loved them all.

He has turned into such a good little boy.He does have his moments(don't we all) but for the most part he is a loving, fun, energetic, smart, cute little boy.Well, actually big boy, he just went for his 3 year appointment and he is 37lbs(90Th)&42inches(over the 100Th ).Yes, we grow them big!He has started a pre-school program called toddler time, where he goes 2 times a week for 2 hours. He LOVES it.We were a little nervous at first thinking he would be upset with us leaving but it didn't even phase him.It makes me so proud to see him interact nicely with other children and obey his teacher when I am not around. His teacher says he listens very well(I wish he would do the same at home sometimes). He will be starting soccer and swim lessons this summer so that should be fun!

I just want to say (write) out loud, that I am so PROUD,LUCKY,& BLESSED to be his mother.I couldn't have picked a better son then the one God has given me.He makes my heart smile each day and I know that I am one lucky lady to have him as my son.No matter how old he gets he will always be my "Buddy".OK, the mush is over.

For his birthday,he wanted to go to the zoo and Fairy Tale town.It turned out to be a beautiful day and we followed the day off with dinner at Chili's and cake and ice cream at our house with the Grandparents and my sister Joy.Dominic is really into Peter Pan.Ever since we went to Disneyland he has been watching his DVD and has made us read him his book lots of times! So, for his birthday he received a Peter Pan cake.I made a pirate ship and then bought the figurines to put on it.He LOVED his cake.He plays with the figurines all the time, packs them everywhere, in the tub,in bed,in the car, etc. You know, sometimes when I am making them their cakes for their birthdays(it has become a tradition around here)I think it would be so much easier and less stress to just buy one but when I see their faces it SO WORTH it.Hopefully, I am giving them a memory they will always cherish.

Here are some cute pictures of Dominic that I never got to post over the past months.

Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that Dominic did get his cast off on Thursday. We are happy it is off, but he is still walking like he has it on.They said that it will take awhile for him to walk "normal", he needs to build his muscles back up.We are just worried that he will develop a bad habit of walking with it out to the side.We will see, I am going to watch him and if he continues to walk funny I will call to see about maybe doing some physical therapy.

As you can see in the above photo, Dominic was trying out his chain saw on his first cast to see if he could get it off.

Also, please know that I do dress my kids.It seems a lot of Dominic's photos are of him in just a diaper. It is just easier with the cast to have him without bottoms. But also, my children just LOVE to be in just their underwear, I think it's a kid thing!

Cute video of Dominic

Here is a cute video of Dominic I took tonight. We are really excited because tomorrow morning he will get his cast off!!!!!!I am trying not to get too excited because there is always that possibility that he may need to wear it a little longer if it is still tender. It has been a long 5 weeks, I can't wait to give him a proper bath!He just can't wait to play in water again!I will keep everyone posted on the outcome!

Here is a cute video taken about a month ago.Annie is too funny, she really loves to go swimming. We went over to Grandma and Grandpa "D" and she couldn't wait to get in, just like a kid!We can't wait to enjoy the pool with you all this summer!

How was your weekend?

Well,I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!I wish I could say that ours was filled with warm weather,BBQ,&running around playing in the kiddie pool.Instead we had no BBQ,cold weather,a trip to the ER,& our boy Dominic with a broken leg!

Well, it was Sunday around 5pm, dinner had been eaten and it was time for a little play in the house before baths.David and I were both in the office while the kids where watching TV and playing with their toys in the living room.We heard a sound and then we could hear Dominic crying. We rush in to check on him and he was holding his leg. There was no redness, swelling,or sign of an injury, but he was crying in pain.David assessed his leg and notice he wouldn't put any weight on it(I have to tell you, that I LOVE the fact that I am married to a Paramedic, just for this reason). We decided that he needed to go to the ER.David took buddy to the UCD ER.When he got there luckily there was not much of a wait. They took x-rays, and found out he has an lower fracture of the Tibia bone down by the ankle.Luckily, he didn't damage his growth plate.Dominic was a trooper,he only cried when they would touch it, and once he got a little Motrin on board he was fine. They put him in cast from his thigh to his toes and he will have to wear it for about 6 weeks. One doctor said for 4 weeks but we will see, whatever it takes to make it mend right.
While he was at the hospital I asked Sam what he was doing, and she says he was standing on his little dump truck.I think he was trying to ride it like a skate board and it just took off.Lately, he has become quite the little dare devil, I have caught him trying to stand on toys before and standing on our coffee table.I have never had this problem with Sam, I guess it comes with the territory of having a boy!
Today, was our first day with him in his cast. All I can say is that it is going to be a LONG 6 weeks for ALL of us.I feel like I have a 30lb 8month old.He can't walk in his cast,so we have to pack him around. We just feel so bad for our little buddy,he wanted to go outside and ride his bike so badly today.I have also told Sam that she is not going to be able to have their kiddie pool out until the cast comes off.I just think it would be so cruel to him, because he doesn't understand(I think I will have to sneak her over to Grandma "D" house with David for a swim or two).

Well, on a happier note Sam, finished her T-Ball last week and moves on to soccer in 2 weeks. She got her trophy, which she loves.I think sometimes that is why she plays is just for that shinny trophy, she is so proud of them, and we are proud of her.We actually signed her up for 2 soccer teams this year. The first one through the CSD goes from June til August, and David will be the assistant coach. The 2ND is EGYSL, its a league and she will be on a all girls team with girls from our neighborhood. It runs for from August through October.I can't believe I just signed away 4 months of Saturday, but oh well, its good for all of us and we enjoy it!

Oh, one more thing.Last month David and I decided to give Dominic his big boy room.I have to give a big shout out to my hubby for going the distance for me.When we first talk about doing it, we said we were just going to get new bedding and furniture and leave his room blue.Well, I like to coordinate things so I said "I want to do some red in his room", "oh and since we are at it can we add a little chair rail".Well, my honey & I came up with a design and David got his room all done in 2 days!I love how it turned out and more importantly so does Dominic! He stayed over at my parents house so it would be a surprise, and it was!His reaction was "WOW"&"Cool"!He loves fire engines, so now he can sleep with them!

Oh, and some of the walls look bare, but these are old photos. We still have a light, and a shelf coming, and David has something special planned for above his bed.

Where have we been?

Well, once again it has taken me awhile to blog.If you haven't already noticed I am a procrastinator.Things always seem to come up and I keep putting it off.Well, finally I got some time to blog.Things have been OK around here.We had a great month of February. We enjoyed a nice Valentines Day dinner out at the Spaghetti Factory as a family. We then came home and ate some Sheri's berries that David had given me.All and all it was a nice relaxing day with the family. My birthday was awesome and low key.I got to celebrate a few times once with my parents and sister(they watched the kids for me so my sister and I could have a girls day).David and the kids made me a cake, which was yummy, and then Donna and Dave took David and I out to the Melting Pot.It was awesome. The celebration was for Davids birthday, promotion, and my birthday. The food was awesome but the company was even better!

The beginning of March Samantha started T-Ball.She is on the Tigers which is bright orange, of all colors! She is really loving it, there are 2 other girls on the team and also her good friend Dylan. It has been great having all the grandparents making it to the games, she really enjoys seeing them,as well as Dominic,David and I.

Sam getting ready to bat!

Sam making her way to third base, and daddy is pointing the way!

Just being kids!

Well, another reason for my late blogging is my sister Joys health.I don't know if any of you know that my sister has kidney failure. She has been on dialysis know for 2 years and on March 9Th we almost lost her.She wasn't feeling too good and she was having trouble walking and was getting weaker by the minute. Finally, around 9pm that night my dad and I took her to the emergency room.We got in right away. When they hook her up to the monitors they could tell something was wrong. They did blood work ASAP and come to find out her potassium level was 8.6.Basically anything over level 8is deadly. They where giving her medicine so fast trying to stabilize her.Luckily they brought it down and put her in ICU and gave her emergency dialysis.Come to find out the ER doctor said that we were honestly within minutes of losing her.I guess potassium stops the heart and that is what they use in the death penalty for the lethal injection. To make a long story short she is doing better now.Its been a long road.It seems that the cause was a combination of things, being on a medicine she should have never been on,her shunt in her arm not working properly, and also the dialysis center not monitoring her properly. She just went in on surgery on Friday to reopen her shunt in her arm(they had to put in a port in between her chest and neck so she can receive dialysis while her arm heals). So please everyone keep her in your prayers. It was and is really difficult for me to witness her go through all of this.I am so glad she has been given a second chance, I have been so proud of her.Since the beginning of the year she has lost 40lbs!Her goal and all of ours is to get her as healthy as can be and get her on the donors list!We LOVE you Joy!

On a more uplifting note, since things have been getting better with Joy, I have been decorating a little around the house.I hosted a "Uppercase living"party on Friday.I went to a Lady's house who is in my MOMS club for her party and decide to have one of my one.I have never done anything like this before but its a lot of fun.Basically what it is,is stickers for the walls that look like stencils. Here is a picture of what I did with Davids help (he is such a perfectionist and awesome with measurements), I really loved how it turned out!http://www.uppercaseliving.com/

Oh wait a minute, I forgot Easter.Well, I agree with everyone it just came way too fast for me.With all the drama surrounding my sisters health, planning a big dinner was last on my mind. Our Easter though turned out nice.We decorate some eggs, the Easter bunny came and left eggs and candy, had a nice visit with grandma and grandpa"D", and then had a delicious meal with my parents and Joy at their house! The kids enjoyed having another Easter egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa Rankin's.They got spoiled once again!

Riding bikes & Building dogs!

Well, not too much going on here in the Price family household. The weather here lately hasnt been the greatest. One day its rainy the next day its sunny, but still very cold.Whenever there is a break in the rainy weather, we like to try and get outside! The kids got new bikes and helmets for Christmas from Santa and they just love riding them.Sam is starting to get a little brave on her new bike.Dominic, well he is a work in progress, he scoots his bike with his feet, and just loves it when we push him real fast. The other day,we all went for a walk down to Starbucks, Sam rode her bike. When we got down there, there is a new Nestle Toll House cafe shop open. She had brought her purse with a few dollars in it.I thought it was pretty precious because she asked if we could go there, and we said "yes".After we said "yes", she goes "Hey buddy", "Come on I'll buy you a cookie".So, off they went inside, they each picked out a cookie,Sam paid for it with her own money, and they sat down and ate them together.David and I were very pleased to see her care for him like that. They are pretty close (though they have their moments)but I just hope they will always have a close bond.
Another cute event, was this last week we went to the mall with my sister Joy.Joy wanted to get them a Valentine gift from the Build-a-bear store. So, she took the kids inside the shop where they picked out their dogs and got to stuff them. They loved doing this, and then they got to give their dogs a air bath. They sure do love their new doggies, they sleep with them every night!

Happy Birthday Buddy!!!!!!

Well, today was Dominic's 2ND birthday.I cant believe he is already 2.Time has certainly gone by fast, too fast when I look back in old photographs and see how much he has changed and grown. He is such a good boy, I couldn't have ask for a better son for God to give to David and I.Since he was born he has been an easy baby.As he has turned into a toddler he has also been easy and everyday he amazes me with the things he comes up with.I enjoy looking at him when he is playing with his little trains. He can play with them for hours just pushing them along and saying "ChooChoo"He knows all their names and at night before bed he picks them up one by one and kisses them and tells them "goodnight" by their names. He adores and loves his sister so much.In the mornings when he sees her he greets her with a cheerful "Hi Sam", and excitement in his eyes of wanting to play with her.I love his caring heart, when we are playing rough on the ground(like lets tackle mommy), I will pretend like I got hurt and cover my face and cry.Dominic will stop and run over to me and pull my hands away from my face and bury his head into mine and say "No Mommy, mommy no", in a sweet caring voice, and give me kisses and hugs.He has a great love for his daddy.I think he knows where all the fire stations are in Elk Grove.Whenever we drive by one he goes "Daddy, daddy there".He can also hear a fire engine from a mile away.He will stop and "SHHH,listen".So, to my little Buddy, even though you cant read, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!! On Friday, we took the kids to the Sacramento Railroad Museum, in Old Sacramento.I have lived here all my life and have never been, David too.We thought Dominic would like seeing the trains and also there was a Thomas section. The Museum was really cool, and very big inside. They had lots of trains to look at, and quite a few you could go on.Dominic loved the Thomas area where they had tracks laid out and lots of trains to play with.Today,Saturday,we had his party at Round table pizza. We reserved a room there and we decorated it with Thomas balloons and decorations.I also made a Thomas train by hand.I was unable to find a train pan so I had to carve a loaf cake into Thomas.I thought it turned out OK, Dominic knew who it was so that was good. All the grandparents where there as well as Virginia,Joy,Kim,Joe, and Lexie.Dominic got spoiled with all his gifts, though he wasn't really into unwrapping them, hopefully next year.He got a dump truck, blanket, clothes,PJ's,Thomas trains,DVD,books,&money.Everyone was very generous to him and he loved all of it!Below is a video of Dominic playing with the trains at the Museum.I was trying to get him to talk but he was too into the trains.

Holiday Fun!

Well, it looks like I was way over due to update our blog!We had a wonderful and crazy busy Christmas season.I first want to say that we really enjoyed getting to see all the siblings,in-laws,cousins,and grandparents. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful big family!I created a slide show above of some of the fun activities we did.Unfortunately,I didn't get pictures of every event. Here is a list of some of the highlights of our holiday. - On December 7Th, David got promoted to engineer. This was very exciting for all of us.He has worked long and hard to achieve this position. It was also very sweet because Samantha got to pin her daddy with his new badge.Dominic will get to do captain, in the future. -Samantha had her Christmas party at her school, where the kids sang 3 songs for the parents and presented us with jeweled candle holders, that they made us. -Samantha also had her Christmas dance recital. It was very cute, she did well with the tap dance part especially because it was to the song "Rodolph the red nose reindeer", her favorite Christmas song. -We were in the Christmas parade with the fire department, it is called "Santa and sirens".We have done this the past 2 years now and it is so much fun.The fire dept, picks 3 neighborhoods and each night they do a parade through one of the neighborhoods.People come and park along the parade route, and usually the big firetruck, ambulance, and a antique fire engine carring Santa, will go with their lights and sirens through the neighborhood.People can also donate toys to us which we give to Santa.Sam just LOVES this event, because she gets to run up to the people on the sidewalks and houses and give them candy canes.Dominic also had a blast rolling in his stroller eating the candy canes! -We had Davids Christmas party with his work, it was at the Pavilions in Elk Grove Park. The kids had a blast because there was tons of goodies and Santa showed up on a fire engine. He calls each child up and hands them a wrap toy.(Parents sneak these to Santa) -We had several nights of hot chocolate and driving around looking at Christmas lights. This is my kids favorite thing to do(David and I enjoy it too).It was really cute this year, I bought a Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas CD (I grew up with it back in the day, remember "I want a hula hoop"), anyways Sam was and still is ADDICTED to it!Even buddy was belting out the songs especially the part "hula hoop".It was just too cute to see them so in to it, but also we had to resort to buying headsets for them in the car so we don't have to listen to it anymore. -We had 5 Christmas events with family. It was wonderful to see everyone and enjoy their company. Also, all the yummy goodies. -David had to work on Christmas,New Years eve and Day, it was a bummer that he had to work on Christmas especially.A nice guy at his work worked a little extra so David could have Christmas morning with us and see what Santa brought. -In January we celebrated Davids 35Th Birthday. It was pretty simple since he had to work on his actual B-day.I made spicy beef enchiladas for him followed by a homemade cake. -Yesterday, we took the kids up to the snow for the first time.We all had a blast, we went to Yuba Gap.The only bad thing was it was really icy, so we couldn't have a snowball fight but we did get some sled runs in.The kids were brave for being their first times. They would just hop on the sleds with us and away we would go.Sam would go by herself and just couldn't get enough of it. So, as you can tell we had a busy holiday, but we enjoyed all of it!This month has also been pretty hectic too.I have my sister,Davids,Dominics, and best friend Kim's birthday all this month.I am also in the process of getting Sam squared away for kindergarten(can you believe it), and also we signed her up for T-Ball.She is pretty excited about it, some of her school friends will be on her team and our neighbor is going to be her coach. It was funny, last week I took her & Dominic to this family fitness day @ Wackford ( David was their working at the event).Where the kids get to do fun little activities and one of the activities was throw a football in the hole.First try she did it!The people working this activity where the T-ball coaches, when they saw her do that, they were like "Wow, she needs to play T-ball, she has a great throw", they start to recruit her.Anyways, I hope she likes it, if anything it will be good exercise.Stay tuned, I will post Buddy's 2ND birthday party, it is this Saturday. Also, below is a video from Samanthas Christmas recital, if you listen closely you can her buddy saying his favorite word"choo choo".

Santa Time!!!!

Well, this Thursday I took the kids to get their pictures taken for Christmas at Picture People.I arrived at the mall early and thought maybe while I am here I will take them to see Santa.Well, when I got there, there was no one in line!!!!!WHOA!!I was very excited because I was not quite sure how Dominic was going to react. To my pleasant surprise he was EXCITED!I was EXCITED that there was no tears.Sam on the other hand was a little reserved, but I told her she needed to tell him what she would like for Christmas or Santa wont know what to bring her.She thought about it for a second, and then when I pointed out that Dominic was telling Santa what he wanted she decide to hop on Santa's lap.Nothing like a little sibling rivalry, to get the job done!Dominic was really cute for the pic, they would say "Smile" and he was like "CHEESE".It was too cute. The whole time I was standing their like, I cant believe their is no crying, whining,or line. After Santa, we proceeded to Picture people and again the kids were great and the pictures turned out cute!Look for your Christmas cards soon.
You see I was pretty shocked how things ran so smoothly, this is because picture day is usually my least favorite day.I LOVE the pictures when we are done, but the whole process just stresses me out!!!!Picking out outfits, making sure they stay clean, hair done,no one crying so we don't have red eyes, and my favorite trying to get them to smile and look at the camera the same time. There are times when I get done with pictures that I am so sweaty I need a shower!I guess its that mom in me who just wants that perfect family picture.

Happy Halloween!!!

Well, its getting late but I thought I would put up some pics of our Halloween. We had a really nice one.We kicked things off yesterday with Sams Harvest party at her school.I was one of three moms who got to stay and help, it was a blast. All the kids came in their costumes and they had a little parade route through the CSD building tricker treating. Then they played Halloween games and decorated cookies. They also came home with LOTS of candy!Today, we carved pumpkins and Sam just couldn't wait to go trick treating. All day she would ask me, mom is it time yet? This year Sam was a cheerleader and Dominic was a football player. Its kinda of funny because when I put Sam in her costume she totally fit the part. She definitely has the energy level to be a cheerleader!Though, David says she will be the bottom of the pyramid girl.Dominic look pretty handsome as a jock.Today, he also got his first really hair cut and the salon (super cuts).Grandma and Grandpa Rankin and Huber, and Aunt Joy stop by to see the kids, and the kids loved seeing them.Grandpa Price was unable to make it do to work, but he did leave a nice little goodie bag on the door for the kids.
We went trick or treating with the neighbors and Sam lead the pack. They couldn't get to the next house fast enough.Dominic did AWESOME!I was so proud of him, he would go up to the door, put his pail out,say "trick or treat".We are still working on the thank you, but for his first time not too bad.

Pumpkin Time!!!!!!

Happy Fall everyone!Today was a really fun day.It was pumpkin patch day for Sam's preschool. We went out to a pumpkin patch off Old Auburn road, it was about 40 minutes away.We had a blast going on a hayride, through the corn maze,a haunted barn, petting animals, and picking out pumpkins.Dominic also really enjoyed himself being with all the older kids.He thought he was a pretty cool big boy!I was a little nervous today though, because we took Sam's good friend Dylan with us.His mom had to work so I offered to take him.I was nervous to be looking after 3 kids by myself, but they were great and were no problem!I guess it was my day to be like Jennifer and Hollie.I don't no how you girls do it, I was constantly going "where's Sam""where's Dylan" in my head. One thing though I was thinking about today when I was dropping Dylan off was, wow I am so lucky.I am so lucky that I am fortune enough to stay home with my children and not have to miss any of these little moments in their lives.I know there are lots of woman who would love to stay home too but cant.I am just very grateful for my husband and the sacrifices we have chosen to take in order for me to stay home and be here with our children.I wouldn't want to miss any of this for the world!
